Welcome to my website.
I first developed my interest in photography whilst studying at Bristol University in the late seventies. This interest deepened when I joined Portishead Camera Club in 2006. My work has improved and taken on its style as a result of my activity with the club. I gained my Licentiateship with the Royal Photographic Society in June 2012.
Today I tend towards monochrome urban landscapes. I am also fond of low light images. The photographers who have particularly inspired me in these respects are Michael Kenna, Alexander Rodchenko and Brassai.
I have an active side-line in Railways. I am not a railway expert but I believe that this genre, both heritage and modern, offers a great photographic aesthetic. I work as a Guard at the West Somerset Railway, which gives me a feel for this type of work.
I update the galleries frequently, in particular the Urban Delights and the various railway sections.
Any feedback on my work is welcome. Please leave your comments in the Guestbook.
