Crossing West Sedge Moor

Crossing West Sedge Moor

A Class 43 HST in FGW livery crosses West Sedge Moor at Stathe on the Somerset Levels. This train was 1J99, a service from Exeter St. David's to London Paddington. This landscape is typical of The Levels in this area, with low lying pasture and a well established network of deep drainage ditches. These did not however stop this particular location from being completely submerged during the winter floods of 2014/15.
