Old and New Birmingham

Old and New Birmingham

Whilst I am not a fan of the well-known tax exile Richard Branson, I have to admit that his trains had a real 'stand out' livery that made for good photography. There is no doubt where your eye goes in this scene, a view down the Grand Union Canal from Great Barr Street Bridge towards the old Curzon Street station building in Birmingham. A Voyager that has yet to undergo rebranding to Avanti West Coast livery pulls away from New Street station (left) on the morning of Saturday 24 April 2021. This working was 9M50, the Edinburgh (0652 hrs) to London Euston service.
