Towards the Tunnel

Towards the Tunnel

A Class 43 set of Great Western Railway heads down the incline towards the eastern portal of the Severn Tunnel at Pilning, near Bristol, on the early evening of Thursday 27 July 2017. Dramatic backlight gives the scene an air of mystery. The train was 1B63, a service from London Paddington to Carmarthen.
