My first sortie of 2018 took me to the Taunton to Westbury line at Oath, near Langport on the Somerset Levels. At Oath Farm the line runs on an embankment alongside the River Parrett. The draw here on this Sunday morning (14 January) was no less than six loco-hauled engineering trains passing in the space of two hours.
This train was 7W02, running from Totnes to Westbury, behind DB Cargo Class 66 diesel no. 66185. I believe that the vehicles immediately behind the 66 are a pair of Cowans Sheldon Twin Jib Cranes (YJB).
