The Transport Corridor

The Transport Corridor

Here is a summer scene that is soon to disappear. Voyager no. 220024 of Cross Country Trains heads south from Oxford station on the morning of Wednesday 21 July 2021. This working was 1O10, the Manchester Piccadilly (0827 hrs) to Reading service. Oxford station is due a major engineering makeover, and the bridge in this scene will be one of the casualties. The old fashioned pedestrian foot tunnel is also bound to disappear, as will the flower planters that conveniently screen off the ugly white vans on Botley Road. It is the price of progress.
