A View of Cogload Junction from the South

A View of Cogload Junction from the South

In this scene a Class 800 set of Great Western Railway heads south towards Taunton. This train formed 1C84, the London Paddington (1403 hrs) to Penzance service on Friday 12 July 2019. The track layout here is interesting. The flyover carries the down line from Bristol, whilst the two lines to the left form the start of the route to Castle Cary and Westbury. The Bristol up line diverges to the left just out of view behind the vegetation. The viewpoint here was the Charlton overbridge.
