On a ferociously hot day in Oxfordshire, Class 66 loco no. 66099 of DB Cargo approaches Appleford Level Crossing, located between Didcot and Oxford. This working was 6E11, the Appleford Sidings (1200 hrs) to Milford West Sidings service on Wednesday 21 July 2021. The train is heading north at this point, having worked south to Didcot to allow the loco to run around. I was cooking in the sun at this point in the afternoon, 1252 hrs, and the train driver also seemed to be feeling the heat, stripped down to just a vest. This must be one of the most graphically interesting freight cargos on the national network.
