On the approach to Fairwood Junction, near Westbury in Wiltshire, on the afternoon of Monday 11 October 2021, Freightliner Class 59 loco no. 59002 'Alan J. Day', heads what must be the longest stone train that I have ever seen. The working was 6L21, the Whatley Quarry Freightliner HH (1323 hrs) to Dagenham Dock service. The train was running 81 minutes late at this point. RTT lists the load as an impressive 4400 tons.
